Is the property a new build ?

Does it have a dish or do you know if it is fed from a communal feed.

If it does not have a dish and not fed from a communal system then there is a possibility that it is wired ready for a dish but you will need to find out where the cable is at the end for the dish - sometimes builders leave these in lofts that the engineers may not access.

It is best to find out what you can before an engineer arrives

If it is fed by a communal system then your box will need to have a setting changed. - which we can advise on if you need to do this.

If there is neither a dish nor fed by a communal system then it is pointless getting leads before an engineer arrives

Hello hoping someone may be able to help me!

I am moving house and after much googling I now know I have the following two sockets on the wall, and I'm confused as to how to connect to the tv/Sky Q box:

1) single coaxial socket

2) double f-type coaxial socket (I think)

There are no cables at the new place and I cannot disconnect them from my current home as they are fed through the wall. Do I just need to buy new cables and if so could someone please advise what I should buy and how I use these sockets?! They are also not located right next to each other, but within a metre or so.

Many thanks in advance!

You need to book a Home Move through Sky

Thanks for replying 😊 I have already informed Sky of the move and have an engineer booked to come out in a week or so, but they'd mentioned to go ahead and try to plug it all in beforehand, and if it works I wouldn't need the engineer.

You can buy twin coax with f-plugs attached. Be careful, they have delicate centre pins that are easily bent.

@Fiona86 you can buy flyleads to connect between the wall socket and your Sky box, such as this.

You'll need two flyleads of suitable length.
