Sky will typically re-use an existing minidish (previously used by Sky+/Sky+ HD) for Sky Q by replacing the LNB (the bit on the end of the dish arm).

I think it's unlikely they'd attempt to fit a Q LNB on a non-Sky dish, and if the dish was in use for something other than Sky or Freesat then it won't be pointed at the right position in orbit anyway.

Sky also won't remove a dish other than one of their own.

Hello,

We are thinking of getting Sky TV. Unsure about the satellite dish, there is one already installed (it was there since we moved into the property). If I ask Sky to install a TV would they need to add a new satellite or will the one that was already there work?

Satellite dish currently outside is not sky satellite dish.

Any advice is appreciated as I am clueless in this... 🙂

Thanks.
