Sky dish installation to static caravan

Hi all,

unusual one, but I have got a static caravan in our garden why we redevelop the house.

confirmed a moving house date with the moving team at sky, and advise it's to a static caravan on our new house address. They confirmed this was all fine.

my question is do I need to do anything in preparation for the engineer to come out as I am unsure how he is going to fix the satellite to the caravan etc. I have looked online and some say tripod system, others say suction cups etc but no firm answer.

has anyone done this before or had one installed so I know that I am covered??

Dont know if Sky Installers will have suitable options other than normal wall mounts.

@Macattack84 I'm going to guess mounting on the static home may not be on option due to the constructon so would look at a ground mount option.

Or if there is a suitable post such as a concrete fence post (always assuming it's thick enough) or a solid wall that isn't part of the house.

Thanks both,

it's a weird one as when you Google search they give up options for a suction cup based mount on the side of the static (which seems unrealistic based on the weight of the sky dishes) or a tripod free standing roof mount for the sky dish, again taking British weather conditions into consideration I'll be forever putting it back up.

I contemplated a pole s you suggest but unsure on height and how strong it would need to be for the fixings etc. but skycustomer service team as useful as a chocolate fireguard!

They are coming out on Monday so just conscious of timeframes

Hi @Macattack84 If there is a problem connecting a dish, you could always change to SKY Stream where you wouldn't need to have a dish, providing you have a fast enough broadband connection?
