I think you may have misunderstood me

Glass & Stream are the same - Glass includes a physical TV whereas Stream is the same interface in a small box

The differences I mention are to SKY Q

Both do not have physical recordings as such - just Playlists using mainly Catch up services and some ability to access some programmes in a similar mechanism to recordings but no physical recordings

I've been having problems with my skyQ signal for a few weeks now, I suspect it's because of the trees on the road in front of my house that are overgrown. Do sky have any plans to start streaming channels instead of relying on satellites. I know sky glass has been produced but I don't want to rent a tv from sky. You can't even cast sky go to a normal tv which would help.

SKY Stream has now been released which is the same as SKY Glass but without the TV

Be aware that is is different to SKY Q - obviously the lack of recordings being one of the main ones as well as relying on the various catch up apps

I sympathise.

Many years ago, I had a similar problem with my broadband at the time. It was with a company called Tele2, and their service was via a small microwave dish on my house (right at the top), and line-of-sight to the transmitter about 3-4 miles away in the city centre.

Initially, my 0.5MB connection was fine (a step up from dual-ISDN), but when they ramped up to 1MB - which at the time was superfast - I couldn't get much above 800KB, dropping to under 700KB during summer. They readily sent out engineers for any issues, and after some testing it turned out that there was a row of trees along the A52, and they were directly in line with the transmitter. It got worse in summer when the leaves appeared.

Because of it, they let me have the 1MB service for the price of the 0.5MB service until I eventually switched to NTL after they cabled my street.

It may boil down to whether there is an alternative position for the satellite dish to resolve your problem. You may need to consider Sky Glass or Stream.
