Symbol on tv screen

Just changed from Sky entertainment package to Sky Signature. A symbol has now appeared on screen

- a grey circle with a line across (see pic attached). How do I get rid of it?

@Fiverdog I suspect that is coming from your TV, not Sky.

I don't think so because when I use my tv remote instead of the Sky remote the symbol disappears.

I think that's a large clue it is the TV...

Given that info then it is clearly your TV and not your Sky box.

Thought I'd found the problem. Using the tv remote I discovered the tv wasn't connected to the wifi - great I thought, that's probably the problem. After a frustrating hour got the wifi to connect with the tv ... alas, the symbol remains. Now the tv remote won't work! Looks like we'll have to live with it. 😡

Are you using an external soundbox or bar?

To me that looks like an attempt to indicate onboard television speakers are muted.

The tv is connected to a speaker and a soundbar. There doesn't appear to be any sound from the speaker but the soundbar is working ok. Will continue investigating! Thanks. 🤣

That looks like the symbol LG TVs show when the speaker is muted. It's definitelty something from the TV in any case and not Sky related.
