How do I remove YouTube and YouTube kids from my apps lists

I don't want my children to be able to access it without being around to know what they are watching. How do I remove them from the alls list?

There is no way to 'remove' apps from Q, but you can apply PIN control to their access.

You can also add a PIN to Sky Q apps that you don’t want your kids watching or using.

To do this:

Press Home on your Sky Q remote and select Settings, then Parental.
Enter your Sky TV PIN.
Select PIN for Apps, then you can apply a PIN to all apps or select individual apps, to do this select the app you want to add a PIN to, by pressing the right button and selecting ‘on’.
To remove a PIN for an app, follow the instruction above but change it to ‘no’.
Once a PIN has been added to an app, every time it’s accessed you’ll need to enter the PIN to open the app.

Netflix and BBC iPlayer can't be PIN protected as they have their own PIN settings within the app.

Hi @MK2023

Afraid you cannot remove any Apps on Q.

However you can add a pin requirement to use them.

May I suggest that Sky apply the facility to at the very least hide chosen apps, specifically Youtube.

My kids are obsessed with it which is having a detrimental effect on them. Simply pin protecting it, does not prevent them from seeing it. Its as if it is taunting them by being visible but them not being able to access it. Given the choice they would sacrifice every other channel/streaming service for Youtube.

I watch youtube frequently so I am not against the app in general but the bottomless pit of content appropriate and not so appropriate for kids I need to be able to effectively monitor. Simply denying them access to something they can see is available is not enough.

Throw me a bone here people.

Sorry, but after all these years that the Sky Q UI has been in use without that function, I find it very unlikely that they will introduce this.

It's never been possible to hide hosted apps.

The only option to conceal anything is whether or not to have the listings for the Adult channels appear in the EPG.

Edit: the 'Kids Safe Mode' also changes what's shown on screen.

I used to have youtube hidden on the app screen and then they changed it (granted a couple of years ago) but it could be done

Yes, it was definitely possible to hide apps a few years ago, then they replaced it with the inferior PIN system.

This is a bit of a joke that this can't be hidden.

Its forcing my hand unfortunately. It's easier to have no sky than deal with this crap

Yeah I am in the same boat. I'm fed up of youtube, it's like the only thing kids want to watch. I will be blocking it tomorrow and will also be getting rid of sky anyway as they keep putting the price up every year. It's too much now. Been with them for ages and they show zero loyalty, plus they seem to have lost a lot of sports that I got sky for in the first place. A little off topic here but at least it's off my chest.
