4k availability

I have download speeds of 20MBps. I would dearly like to get myself a 4k tv and watch 4k movies. Is that speed enough to stream? Can i receive 4k through my sky satellite dish? What are my options?

On Q there are UHD channels (Sport) that are broadcast over Satellite.

Otherwise, you download Sky UHD context and is not streamed as such - so a low bandwidth is not an issue.

An actual stream, e.g. NetFlix, may not work.

Cheers! Will need to make a judgement call on whether getting a 4k telly is worth it for me. Sky movies are mostly pants at the mo so may wait and see how things develop

Worth remembering than all UHD televisions upscale HD content anyway, otherwise 3/4 of the screen would be empty.

The better streaming apps such as Netflix are rate-adaptive based on available bandwidth.

Also worth considering that the 'best' source for 4K content, particularly movies, is UHD Blu-ray.
