First poster so if this has been brought up before sorry ,I'm old enough to remember when sky announced sky digital to take over from analogue the big selling point that was in nearly every promotion was the "fact" a digital signal was not affected by weather conditions at all!so why is it my signal goes every time there's a bit of wind, rain surely that's miss selling?

Welcome to the forum, i'm not sure where that misinformation came from as all signals can be affected by weather.

In the case of a satellite signal heavy rain clouds or snow can attenuate an already extremely weak signal that comes from the satellites 26000 miles above the earth.

If your signal is affected by any rain that woukld suggest your dish needs to be realligned. There is nothing in Sky's blurb to suggest your signal is weather proof so saying you've been missold is stretching it a bit.

I would give Sky a call to check your dish for alignment.

You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.

If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
(UK) https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number
(ROI) on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

Stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Apparently the quieter times to ring are just after 7am or about 9pm.

I lost signal at about 1840hrs during a heavy downpour. I was expecting it. I have always expected interference or no satellite signal message during very heavy rain, high winds or snow on the LNB. It's one of those things I'm afraid. Luckily it only lasted about a minute and hasn't affected my F1 viewing (so far 😂).

There is no technology on the dish that allows it to be realigned remotely, the satellites don't need aligning and even if they did Sky cannot do that either.

Also the forum can't provide real time help.
