My Q mini box remote won't work , batteries changed , volume ok but nothing else so unable to connect to Main Q box

Would suggest repairing your Sky q remote.
Pair the remote as in section 3 of this Sky q help article;

Hi @Nicky+Willis If @lettice suggestion doesn't work, try rebooting your router by removing the power cable for 30 sec then reconnect to reboot, then reboot your main SKYQ box by turning the power off at the socket for 30 sec then turn back on to reboot, then do the same with the Mini box?
