Disable the record button

My 82yr old relative has sky as likes to watch the sports but now we have had Sky Q installed he is struggling with the remote control. He is recording almost everything that he is watching by mistake. He cannot delete all these as isn't aware what he has done.

is it possible to 'disable' the record option on his remote control.

@Montym00Whilst the record button cannot be disabled it should not matter as Sky manages the disc space and if it gets near to full recordings are deleted to make room for more, generally the oldest ones.

The other possible solution is to buy a controller that can learn the codes from the existing one and don't let it know the record one.
