Hi My skybox keeps restarting after shutting down and the Tv starts.

Since the last week after shutting the sky Q box, it restarts again and switches on the TV. This happens every time and only can be stopped by pulling the power cord from the Q box. Please help.

@rkuksThat should only happen if you hold the on/off button down for too long on the Q remote, check that it is not sticking.

I am afraid that is not the case. I have checked and it's still happening. Last night it switched on the whole night. It even restarts even if the tv shuts automatically due to no activity.

Would suggest repairing your Sky q remote.

Pair the remote as in section 3 of this Sky q help article;

The remote is not the issue. I have removed the battery from both the sky and tv remote. It still switches on. looks like there is a problem with the q box

@rkukssounds like you need to call Sky and get an engineer out to have a look where, if they can't resolve the issue, it will be likely a box replacement.

We mention checking and repairing the remote, as we have seen others in this community with stuck/repairing remote glitches that have caused similar restarting problems in the past..

Just talked to a sky engineer. They asked me to change my settings in the preference to active. This seems to have worked. Will however wait to see.

The setting suggested by the sky advisor has not worked. Have had to remove the power cable as it keeps restarting.
