Apple tv login

I have redeemed the 6 month apple tv deal. Signed up with apple and can see subscription in account. Whe trying to sign in on app in sky I get asked to visit activate.apple.com to input code. I get an error message here saying I need ios 12. I am using an android phone. No idea how to get this to work. Any ideas?
