W Box was renewed and now it is malfunctioning. On the screen comes message run or shutdown.
my mother aged 87 after breakfast watches religious broadcast for three hours.
Today Q box want shut down despite the fact that we have selected to remain running until we shutdown tv. This worries me. If I am not in the house and tv shuts down. This is gradually leading to

That sounds like a message from the TV rather than Q?

Was this definitely the SKY Q box & not the TV itself.

Many TVs have built in timers far shorter than the SKY Box & because people use the SKY Q box to change channels etc the TV may think no one is watching due to the lack of interaction.

My TV often comes up with a message warning it will power off.

Thus check the settings on the TV & when the message pops up warning of a shutdown use the Volume control buttons (a brief press up and down) to see if that stops the switch off.
