Issue with remote

My remote control on my sky mini box stopped working. I bought a new remote and it will not pair to the mini box

Hi @Rtno

Try completly resetting your new Bluetooth remote.
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.

I have tried your suggestions.

Howver, othing comes up on the screen. My Mini box is not located beside the TV but I have laways pointed the remote at the Mini box

Hi @Rtno

When you try to pair the remote by pressing 1 & 3 the Mini must be on with Green led.

If it is not on reboot it as follows.

To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your mini Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the mini box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

@oldfella - your instructions have allowed the SKY to come back on. However the remote will not work at the TV.

With the Q box on try completly resetting your Bluetooth remote again

@oldfella - I have done this quite a number of times. However the on screen instructions are not coming up on the television

Does the remote led flash 4 times when pressing and holding 7 & 9 together?

If it does then the remote has been set to infrared mode.

Where exactly is your mini box located?

Yes the flashes happen at the right time.
but the messages do not come up on the TV to follow.

It is located in a network storage room.
it has been working Ok for the last 15 years.

Assume then you went to the storage room and made sure the mini was on and that you pointed the remote directly at the infrared sensor on the mini when you pressed and held 1 & 3 together (after you had received the four flashes after 7 & 9)?
