Have seen pink screens occur on devices when an hdmi or ethernet cable is faulty or wired incorrectly.
Have you tried swapping the ethernet cable over.

Ok that is properly weird

You don't need fixed IPs (presumably that range you used is outside your DHCP scope?) but shouldn't matter either.

Hi I'm trying to use Ethernet where possible for my SKY mini boxes

All is good apart from the last box that just seems to throw a fit as soon as I plug the Ethernet cable into the back - it works for about 20 seconds and then freezes with a pink screen and then needs a power cycle to get back online with the Ethernet removed.

I've swapped the mini box for another - same problem

same on DHCP

I've set all of the minis and SKY Q to fixed IP at xxx.xxx.x.180-185 - same problem

latest firmware updates

i just don't get why the Ethernet connection sends it loopy

im going to plug my lap top in to the same Ethernet tomorrow to make sure the cable and connection to the router is good but I'm pretty sure it will be

baffled 😞

Unless your main Q box is also on Ethernet then you need to be on Sky Broadband to Ethernet connect minis. Unless that is you are connecting them to your main Q box by Ethernet.

@ChodleyDHCP does cover the full range but nowhere near enough devices to get anywhere near that IP address.

I thought it might be an IP duplicate so changed to fixed at 180 for main sky Q and then all of the following SKY minis at 181-184

like you say I don't think it's that but still baffled lol

note if using Wi-Fi the box sits on the same address and works quite happily

Tested the same cat 6 that is going into my sky mini with my lap top with Wi-Fi switched off and it jumped straight onto the network no issues so I'm even more baffled as to why the box crashes
