Where is the NDS number on the Sky Q box?

I have been

trying to change my account password. The Sky people say I need to give them an NDS number which they assure me is on my Sky Q box. I've unplugged it & looked everywhere but can't find it.
help?!?'

I assume you really are 100% sure you are talking to Sky?

@fedupofskytooIf Sky are convinced it is there I would ask them where it is, I can't see any need for it. You can change your password and/or PIN number via your on line account. I have changed my password and apart from my Sky ID and password I have not needed anything else.

@fedupofskytoo As @Chodley asked, are you sure you're talking to Sky? Why are you trying to change your account password with them? @bob1234 explains that you can do this yourself without talking to Sky

'NDS' appears to have no meaning in this context. The only 'personalised' number in a Q box would be on its Viewing Card.

They couldn't tell me! I don't want to change my password on my sky id account, but the password I set up to identify me when I call them.....can't remember it ! They said I could only reset it if I have them the NDS number or replies to a text that I never got!!!
I hate sky!

It's the password that identifies me when I ring or chat with them. Haven't a clue what it is & they can only reset it if I respond to a text (which I never got) or give the NDS number which she says it on the back of hyphen Skyq box (but it isn't ) 😔

After some research, 'NDS' in a Sky context appears to be an obsolete reference to Cisco VideoGuard encryption for DRM applications: it's very hard to understand what relevance this would have to a subscription account issue.

Hopefully they managed to ID you some other way?

Weirdly someone else was asking on here about finding out their NDS in the last 24 hours but for a different reason (that I didn't understand)
