Hi.

When I first got Sky Q it all worked seamlessly with my existing AV equipment.

Then it started behaving oddly occasionally.

Now it is misbehaving every time I try to turn on the telly.

Originally, I had HDMI control turned on on all my AV kit, so to switch on the telly, I simply had to press the home button on the Sky remote. The amp and the telly would switch on, and the Sky Q box would come to life as it should.

Now, if I try this, the LED on the sky box goes from amber to green and the amp and telly come to life, but the screen remains black. If I press standby on the Sky remote, the Sky Q box LED remains unchanged, i.e. it wil not go into standby. It will remain completely unresponsive unless I pull the power cable from the Sky box and wait several minutes for the box to reboot.

As it stands, I now have to switch on the telly, wait for it and the amp to start-up, then press the stand-by button on the Sky remote. Any divergence from this procedure results in the Sky Q box freezing-up.

Even this procedure is not foolproof, however: often once the Sky home screen appears, as soon as I press a button to navigate to the TV guide, the telly screen goes crazy, showing a screen full of coloured digital noise and reboots itself. When this happens, the Sky Q box locks-out and will be unresponsice until I pull the power cable.

I have tried all combinations of HDMI control, eco settings, start-up procedures, etc. and this is now driving me crazy.

Do I need to ask for a replacement Sky Q box?
