Unable to install sky go on macbook version 12.7.6

I keep getting an unexpected error message when trying to install sky go. reading here mac version 11 is the minimum required. These are the details of my mac:

MacBook Air 2015, Intel Core i5

macOS Monterey 12.7.6
Sky Go 26.3.2
Crash: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) in NSButtonCell _coreUIWidgetName

Is sky go version 26.3.2 is compatible with my Mac and macOS version?

I have tried uninstalling all previous sky go versions and all previous file folders,

Sky Go stopped launching today for me. Done an uninstall and fresh install. Icon bounces and the refuses to load

Sky Go App has suddenly stopped working. I have updated nothing that I know of. Tried to solve it. I generally dislike AI but it's helped me before. Gave me this.

OS Version: macOS Ventura 13.5 (22G74)

Description of Issue:
The Sky Go app crashes instantly on launch on a clean user profile with no external peripherals or screen recording software active. Terminal execution reveals the app terminates immediately with a segmentation fault (SIGSEGV) during initial window rendering.

The crash log clearly isolates the failure to a native Apple AppKit conflict when the underlying Electron framework tries to initialize UI controls for the physical MacBook Touch Bar. Passing the --disable-features=TouchBar flag via terminal does not bypass the crash.

Sky Go app on my Mac worked fine last night (23/10/256) but the app won't launch tonight (24/10/26), this isn't a localissue as the same is happening. to my friend onhis Mac also tonight?

F1 just ended and the post-quali show started, and my player crashed on the M3 Max.

Won't reopen.

Deleted the Application Support folder, deleted the app, fresh reinstall, and still crashes.

Appears to install OK but on launch, App icon bounces for a few seconds and then disappears ?

Does this mean Intel Macbooks are no longer supported with Sky Go?

2021 MacBook Pro with Golden Gate 27.0.1 and Rosetta installed running Sky Go v26.2.4

I get the information pop-up that support for Intel Apps is stopping, but Sky Go is still working for me...

I appreciate this does not help you with the issue, but does at least answer your question.

The forum is full of people not being able to connect to SkyGo on (largely) Macs. Radio silence from Sky. No status page, no tweet updates - nothing. What's going on?

@BrokenHearter Have you considered the issue is with a MAC OS update? That being the case it's outside of Sky's control, and is down to Apple to resolve as their update has caused the issue.

No issues currently with Windows OS so possible not something Sky have done.

I am unable to open sky go on my Macbook air 2017 running Monterey version 12.7.6. I have tried all suggestions online including removing and reinstalling and still no success. I need help please!

Please help I have a mac book pro with the updated os available which is on my mac book sequoia 15.8.1 and my sky go app will not open you can down load from the website but it just crashes when you attempt to open.

Have you considered that it might not be a macOS update issue and therefore entirely within Sky's control?

As a 2019 retina 5K, my Mac has reached its update limit with Sequoia 15.7.9 (24G830). I've changed absolutely nothing with my Mac this weekend, yet since yesterday Sky Go no longer opens, cannot be unistalled or reinstalled despite downloading the most recent update from Sky, and has disappeared from my apps folder despite me not deleting it or messing with it in any way.

I know you don;t work for Sky, but maybe some things are Sky's problem, and not down to the user or any update to their software or hardware.

I'm running MacBook Air 1.2Ghz Quad Core Intel Core i7, Sequoia 15.8.1 Up until the end of F1 qualifying Sky Go has run perfectly.

Now it has stopped working, I have followed all of the instructions to delete / remove the app, clear the bin, restart and reinstall without success.

Help please

I'm having the same problems too since 2/410/26 on the same OS for an M2 Macbook Air - followed the advice from the forum here, but that hasn't worked.

Also copy/pasted the error code into Gemini & tried ALL the suggestions from there (deleting preferences & clean reinstall, changing system preferences, etc) with no luck either.

Given I have deliberately disabled any and all Mac Updates so I can run a stable OS that allows all the programmes to run without having to worry how an OS update could suddenly cause issues, I would suggest this is a Sky problem. And I think most mac users experiencing pretty much the same problem would agree.

Doing some research, it seems Sky have moved forward with thier app to only work on Silicon (post 2023) Mac's, no app for pre 2023 Macs on Intel.

Apple pulled support for Intel Macs earlier this year.

many other companies changed thier apps to work dual Intel / Silicon, but Sky just out two fingers up to pre 2023 Mac users and moved forward, no more Sky Go for Intel Macs
