No it doesn't. I have deleted the app twice and downloaded it again but it is still happening and when it initially starts up and asks to connect to devices it looks like it is connecting to my old WiFi not my new one so could this be the issue and how do I get it to see my new WiFi?

I can watch sky go on my iPhone as very few seconds it freezes and stops working and I get an error message 40-1 saying there is a problem with the connection to your device and sky Q box. Please check WiFi connection. I did a service check and WiFi connection looks good:

On the Sky Go app in the settings if you turn off the connection to your Sky Q box does it then work ?

On your iphone itself (so not the Sky Go app) go to Settings > Wifi and select your correct network name to connect to.

I tied that too. I can see my connection on my phone keep dropping out of my WiFi to 5G so maybe (despite having a WiFi expert come today) there's still a WiFi dropping out issue and that's why it is happening. I hear there's a bug with sky max.

Does it happen if you have you phone right next to your broadband hub ?
