Sky Go update failed

I occasionally watch Sky TV on my Windows 11 Desktop PC via SkyGo. It's been largely trouble-free for years. Today I accepted an update which downloaded to PC ok, but installation failed. Error message reads: "A JavaScript error occurred in the main process." I then tried to remove the SkyGo app, with a view to re-installing it, but removal failed as well. Then I performed a PC restart, then tried the SkyGo app again, but I just get the JavaScript error message. Any help appreciated. (Sky TV is working perfectly well in another part of my house via my Sky Q box, but I guess that's irrelevant because the problem is between the update download and my PC ?)

Have you tried this:

Go to 'C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming (ensure hidden files/folders are visible) and delete the following folders:

Sky
Sky Go

Empty your recycle bin.

Reboot your PC and then download and install the Sky Go app again via here:

Thanks for your swift reply, Caesarome. I tried your suggestion and it brought up a different error message. However, reading between the lines, it cryptically led me to Task Manager where I killed off a couple of Sky processes - presumably they were stuck. Then I reinstalled the Sky Go app and it worked right away. Trying to master the unfathomable mysteries of Windows is indeed a black art! Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
