Cast Sky Go from my iPad

I'm going away for a couple nights and I've heard you can carry from your iPad now too any TV

I'm struggling to find any info on this, I've tried it at home with my iPad but don't see the option anywhere stuck as a cast icon

How do I go about this please?

That is incorrect: Go from Sky Group (a division of the Comcast Corporation) does not permit casting from phone or tablet.

You may have misunderstood the last Sky Glass update which now permits AirPlay reception.

There's also an app of the same name from Sky Network Television Ltd in New Zealand, which is an entirely different product.

Sky even rang me and said you can watch sky go on any TV via a cable, they called and explained that right before trying to sell me sky protect

They are partially right as you can do this with this with the likes of a laptop but not mobiles or tablets like iPads.

As @caesarome indicates, Go over HDMI works from Apple and Windows computers (desktop/laptop), games consoles and Apple TV boxes. The later two categories require the Multiscreen or Whole Home subscription add-ons to be in place.

It does not work from phone or tablet devices, even where these run an Apple or Microsoft operating system and have HDMI-out functionality for other apps.

Unfortunately the Sky Protect sales calls aren't necessarily accurate.
