I have Sky Q box and can remote record from Sky Go app when at home but not when away from home?

I can remote record from Sky Go app to SkyQ box when at home but not when I am away from home.

Any ideas most welcome.

Are you able to remote record via the website here:

Make sure your region is set to the correct one.

Tried to remote record through web address but that just comes up error.

What does the error message say (as that might be why it isn't working via Sky Go either) or does it just say Error ?

Is your region setting correct ?

Remote record through web address just shows "error" no reason.

Can remote record through the app sitting at home but doesn't work whilst away from home.

May try deleting the app and reloading.

@MikeH1 so when away from home are you getting the option to record to Sky box along the top of the app

Along the top of the app I have three icons,

settings/remote handset/search.

Do I need to go into remote handse?

I'm not sure where yoh are seeing that as you should see the record to box option at the top of the TV Guide so do you not see this ?

@MikeH1 have a look at the picture below as that is what you should be seeing on an android phone when away from home and on the TV guide with the 2 options

On iPhone and when press on tv guide comes up the same but then record to tv option disappears and just leaves channel info.

click through to channel and it then gives option to record.

If I opt to record it shows on phone but doesn't record on skybox.

Thanks for all your help but still can't record when away from home.

I'll probably start from scratch again as something in set up can't be right.
