Recording BBC1, 2 & ITV Issues

Hi all,

My SKY Go APP allows me to record all programme channels except for BBC1, 2 & ITV?!

I've tried the usual of turning off my SKY Q box, deleting the APP etc. etc.

I'm baffled?

What is happening when you try to set a recording for those channels ?

Is your region correct, if not try changing it then giving it a go again to set the recording.

The link works fine for me so can you try using a different browser as change your region could well fix this issue.

Tried the link and still no joy!

A quick call to the SKY team and it's their understanding you're not able to record BBC1 or ITV1 because of Catch-Up TV (iPlayer for the BBC & ITV Catch-Up).

It does make sense but a little disappointing TBH. I have tried recording on BBC3 & 4 - likewise with ITV2 & 3 and they recorded!

Oh well, at least I tried!

Whatever they told you is incorrect as you can set recordings and downloads from the BBC and ITV channels as I frequently set recordings and downloads myself via the app. Where I think they are getting muddled up is with the sky Go app you can not watch live channels from the BBC unless it is connected to a Sky Q box.

Nothing as yet and are you based in Wales?!

im trying to see it only affects use Welsh regional users.

I've got the same problem - but worse, as I cannot - despite having SkyGo Extra - record anything or any channel via SkyGo - any channel I try fails with the same error message, "Sorry, something went wrong. Record request not sent".

I live in South Wales .

Glad to hear it's not only me then!

Let's hope SKY look at this and can help us get our recordings sorted on the SKY Go APP!

I've pulled the plug on my Sky Q this evening, waited 5 minutes and plugged it back in. Low and behold, all issues regarding remote recording via the Sky Go app have been resolved. Hurrah!

Hi all,

Just an update from my previous issues with not being able to record on my SKY Q from the APP. Low and behold last week, I was at home and just thought I'd try it again because I had nothing better to do LOL!

Strangely, and to my amazement, it recorded as normal. However, since then, I've purposely tried it when out and about and it's been amazing - whatever the issue was, it's now solved itself!
