No Subtitles Available in U channels

On a Sky Q Box, when trying to watch content from U & Drama, via Sky Box Sets or Catch-Up, there are no Subtitles Available.

However, this same content on the U App, or on the U Website does have subtitles available.

Can Sky please made these subtitles available on their system?

For instance - U&Drama - there are loads of great shows on here and none of them have subtitles available via the SKY Q box [box sets or catch-up] . However there are subtitles available on the U website and on the U App for these shows.

If you need an example, the main show on the U&Drama website at the moment is The Chelsea Detective, if you stream it via their website or the U app it has subtitles, but on Sky Q, none available.

Why haven't Sky managed to port over the subtitles for this content? This is the same for loads of Catch-up content, lots of great shows and movies, but no subtitles, when there are subtitles available from the content-providers for the same content. Sky needs to address this, especially this week.

I agree. I have recently switched from Virgin to Sky only to find that many of the programmes I enjoy are not available to me because of the lack of subtitles. This is very disappointing. I presumed that Sky would be accessible.

Go into U app on tv go to a to z listing at the top you can switch subtitles on the in programme you want to watch subtitles on off is on the information bar. Took me ages to find this.

Hi. I have the same problem with the subtitles for my husband. There is no U app in the app listings on my smart tv though....any thoughts? Am I looking in the wrong place. Any help would be appreciated. H.

The U app is not available on Sky Q, it is only on Sky Glass and Stream.

If your on Sky Q, I know that you can permanently turn on subtitles in the settings menu (not too sure about older boxes) all you have to do is go into settings -> accessibiliy -> subtitles -> on. That might work, not too sure.

Why it's so typical of Sky.

Subtitles are so difficult to obtain but freely available on an appapp on my ipad

I pay Sky £70/80 per month just to irritate me every evening?

I seldom watch Sky programmes which are aimed at the US market.

Good news all of a sudden yesterday subtitles have appeared on U I had been in touch with there customer service the day defore about it don't know if that had anything to do with it

I totally agree.Sky are completely 'deaf' to this complaint.

Absolutely infuriating!

No explanation ever given despite my complaining for the last 12 months.

I am seriously considering reverting to Freeview over this ignorant stance that Sky have adopted.
