This display makes for a more dynamic viewer experience in my opinion. It would also engage novices more and maybe encourage them to take a deeper dive into cycling.

The flats are just boring even to me a fairly active cyclist. Everyone in the peloton can ride 30-35 miles an hour all day long on the flats. But with the data displayed, we would be able to see the inner workings of the ride and follow the rider's effort.

This has nothing to do with Sky.

Firstly, Tnt Sports and HBO Max show the cycling in UK, not Sky.

Secondly, they aren't usually the production company behind it. This is usually a national broadcaster. They can only show the graphics and data the production company provide.

Thirdly, a team might not want the data constantly available to all others as the directeur sportiff watching in the team cars behind the groups are watching the tv coverage in the cars so if they see on it, "oh Oscar onley's heart rate is now at his max, we can attack him and drop him", that is vital data that teams might not want out there.

The teams and their riders are in radio contact so directeur sportiffs can easily relay this information.

Wbd, who own TNT Sports, do produce the mountain bike world cup coverage, and we do see more data in those races, but there is also not the constant communication between team car (as there is none) and the mountain biker, especially as there are no radio communications and any thing intel provided to riders is delayed, slow, and can only be very brief.
