Contacted Sky over the weekend that Dunamis TV on channel 592 showing a blank black screen (again) with the schedule as "This is Dunamis TV". I got a reply today (3 August) from Sky and they advised that the channel has been removed. They were unable to give me an answer as to why the screen was a blank black screen.

IMHO, I assume that as this is the second time it happened in the space of a few weeks, they removed it.

Yes, Ofcom has now listed Lucky Cat TV 2 as having been licensed in July 2026. It is a DTPS (Digital Television Programme Service) licence held by Lucky Cat Ventures Ltd.

Interestingly, this is actually their second DTPS licence. Lucky cat TV was licensed in January 2026, also to Lucky Cat Ventures Ltd, but as far as I can tell neither Lucky Cat TV nor Lucky Cat TV 2 has actually launched on Freeview or Freely.

A DTPS licence doesn't mean that a channel is automatically available on Freeview. Before it can launch as a conventional DTT channel, the broadcaster would also need to secure capacity/carriage with an appropriate DTT multiplex operator and obtain the necessary Freeview platform/LCN arrangements through Everyone TV, as well as complete the technical arrangements for providing the service.

In fact, Ofcom's DTPS application process requires confirmation from the relevant multiplex provider that it has agreed to carry the service, so the fact that both services have been granted DTPS licences suggests there are or were concrete DTT carriage plans behind them.

The timeline at the moment is:

• January 2026 — Lucky cat TV licensed (DTPS)
• July 2026 — Lucky Cat TV 2 licensed (DTPS)
• Neither currently appears to have launched under those names on Freeview/Freely.

It'll be interesting to see what Lucky Cat Ventures is planning, particularly as there is very little public information about either service at the moment.

With Select and Hits being replaced by two permanent Pop-Up event channels, it feels like linear TV viewing habits have shifted. Most people browse On-Demand for specific genres like Drama, Thriller, Comedy, or Sci-Fi rather than tuning into live TV mid-movie.

I’d like to suggest a streamlined 7-channel Sky Cinema lineup (301–307) that cuts down on channel clutter while keeping the best live-TV genres intact:

301 - Sky Cinema Premiere (New releases and premieres)
302 - Sky Cinema Pop-Up 1 (Major franchise events like Harry Potter or James Bond)
303 - Sky Cinema Pop-Up 2 (Themed weeks like Halloween Horror, Sci-Fi, or Actor Spotlights)
304 - Sky Cinema Family (Kids and family films)
305 - Disney+ Cinema (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars)
306 - Sky Cinema Action (Fast-paced blockbusters and thrillers)
307 - Sky Cinema Greats (Classic, easy-watching movies)

I'd love for this feedback to be passed along to the scheduling and EPG team!

Thanks

As far as i am aware , Disney+ Cinema isn't a Sky controlled no On Demand , it's largely redundant on Stream especially.

It also isn't on Now either presumably before Disney don't want it on there as low cost streaming option (Now Cinema is regularly £3.99pm)

I'd do something like this

Sky Cinema Premiere

Sky Cinema Universal

Sky Cinema Boxset

Sky Cinema Family

Sky Cinema Action and Comedy

Sky Cinema Greats

Sky Cinema Drama and Thriller

Sky Cinema Sci-Fi and Horror

Disney+ Cinema is owened by Sky Group and The Walt Disney Company. I would suspect that Disney+ control the content while Sky maintain the technical side and availability of the channel. Also, the no on-demand for Disney+ is redundant, especially if everyone has Disney+ with Sky. There is no need to add on-demand content.

That's my point, what is point of the channel only included with Sky Cinema when Disney+ with ads is included with the entertainment packages anyway

I give it 3 to 4 years until the channel is axed.

Could be contract conditions of why Disney+ is free or at a reduced cost to Sky subscribers.

Live TV is an anathema to me (except for sport), and I wouldn't dream of happening across a movie live and missing the start! That's disrespectful to the creators and a waste of my time, and why PVRs exist (SkyQ is an excellent one).

On this platform, given that HDR and 4K are not available on broadcasts (in contrast to sport such as F1, where both 4K and HDR are used), my only choice is to download the movies from On Demand. Otherwise yes, I'd be recording the 4K HDR broadcasts. It's not because I prefer to download from On Demand at all.

You may dislike live TV, but one must remember that many people still do watch live TV. For example, older people may only watch live tv and not on-demand or streaming. It's the same reason why radio channels are still on Sky Q, as this is the only way some people can receive these radio channels. It's the same reason for why (e.g.) Sky Cinema channels still exist as people still watch the live channels.

Yes it is, perhaps a re-read of the 1st post? It was last updated on the 7th August(4 days ago).

Wednesday 5^th August 2026

BritAsia HD launches at 742 on Sky Glass and Sky Stream only in the UK and ROI

@GD1 I get that. I am talking about on this page https://www.sky.com/help/articles/tv-channel-list-sky-glass#recently-added

All good for us that use the communities but not for the casual customers that don't unless they need help.

DiscoSky — Thu, 13 Aug 2026 14:31:07 GMT

Yes there are quite a few updates needed to that list. I have mentioned it but Sky don't seem particularly bothered.

For example:

Sky Essential TV

Channel 4

Channel 4/S4C - 104 (108 in Wales) – delete reference to S4C which is not on 108 in Wales and is listed separately

Kids

RTÉ Junior is now RTÉ Kids Junior
Add Cula4 - 214 in Northern Ireland only

International

Amend Hum Masala 720 to Hum News 720
Utsav channels have changed to Star
Add Brit Asia

Sky Sports

Amend Sky Sports F1 UHD - 902 (406 with UHD subscription) – 406 should read 407

Sky Cinema

Amend Sky Cinema 308 to Sky Comedy 308

The TV channels not currently available on Sky Glass or Sky Stream list is even more of a mess. Assuming the list is supposed to be a comparison with what's currently on satellite the following changes are needed as a minimum.

Under entertainment & music
- Delete all channels listed except Rewind TV but add Travelxp
Under international
- Add QTV Religious and GTC Punjabi
- Remove NHK World and Travelxp (not international channels), Channel 44 and Islam Bangla (no longer on satellite) and Zee Punjabi (now on Glass/Stream)
- Amend MATV National to APNA MA TV
Under News
- Add NHK World and remove Ideal World (listed under wrong genre)
Under Religion
- Remove QTV Religious (an international channel) and Faith UK (closed on satellite)
Under Shopping
- Add MstHveIdeas and Ideal World
- High Street TV 3 is now Shop Unlimited and Gems TV is now Gemporia
Under Adult
- Delete Climax (closed on satellite)

@DiscoSky:, I reiterate my reply in the July 2026 changes:

It would be strange indeed if major decisions were made on SD Channels closing down 800's for TNT and has resulted in an EPG huge gap. I completely agree also with the 800 big resuffle with SD needs to be filled out blank, Seems to me that Sky were probably withholding the channels, and not planning new channel's to get 101-999 genre.
I recently emailed Sky about having a uniform EPG guide across the UK & Ireland. Part of the response included the below, which is relevant for your comment.

"[...] channel positioning within the EPG is influenced by a range of factors, including regulatory requirements, regional broadcasting obligations, commercial agreements, and platform considerations. These factors can result in variations between regions to ensure that local audiences continue to receive the appropriate services in a way that meets licensing and prominence rules.

That said, improving ease of navigation and maintaining a logical, user-friendly channel layout are important considerations, and we recognise the value of feedback such as yours when reviewing how the guide is structured."

So, they can't just simply add or change the channels as your suggestions. It's down to contracts, limitations, etc, as Sky described.

Additionally, Talking Pictures TV have previously stated that as their content is not in HD, they cannot broadcast on Sky Glass/Stream. So, I don't think Rewind TV would be allowed either. But saying that, there are many SD channels on Sky Glass/Stream. So, it seems rules are conditional.

Talking Pictures' own content is indeed in HD.

Watch programs like The Footage Detective via their streaming service and you'll see the difference in quality.

Admittedly, their movies weren't recorded in HD, and in many cases, they probably have a poor quality copy to air. But many of their movies would look better even if upscaled to HD.

I suspect this is more a financial decision on TPTV's part.

Hi Paul, Talking Pictures TV is an archive channel and is very proud of the fact that the channel airs older, largely forgotten, films and tv series. However, this does mean not all content is available to us in HD and therefore Sky will not launch our service on Sky Stream or Sky Glass as their technical specifications ask for content to be 100% HD.

Yes, the post was 2 years ago, but it's still an SD channel on Sky. The original post is here: https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/What-s-On/Why-is-Talking-pictures-TV-not-available-on-Sky-Stream-but-is-available-on-other-sky-platforms/m-p/4836645#M151181
