I just received an email from Sky Italia that included many other people's email addresses, which is surely a data breach.

@Escher1 Then you need to contact Sky Italia not Sky UK, theye are seperate setups.

My contract is with Sky UK not Sky Italia.

You need to notify the sender of the email which is Sky Italia.

@Escher1 You said the email came from Sky Italia, not Sky UK, therefore it is Sky Italia who sent it not Sky UK, it makes no difference if you have a contract with Sky UK, they have not sent the email.

Sky UK have no access to Sky Italia operations or systems so I'm not sure what you expect them to do about another divisions data breach, on a different continent.

I don't agree. Sky UK must have shared my details as I have no dealings with Sky Italia.

@Escher1 If there had been a data leak Sky would of had to inform the ICO as soon as it was discovered or risk huge fines.

I take it you've never supplied your emaill address to various outher organistations, social media, online stores etc,

Are you even sure the email address used is from Sky Italia? the domain would end .it

You are only speaking with other customers here, not directly with sky uk or sky italia. This is mostly a customer helps customer forum.

The point of contact for a data breach is the organisation's Data Protection office.

With a Google search of "sky italia data protection office" this brings up what AI suggest the email is. (Starts with "dpo" and ends with sky.it)

A similar search will suggest a Sky uk data protection department
