also, sky transformers and pitch perfect will revert back to sky action and comedy on the 10th and sky blockbusters changes to sky epic worlds from the 14th. one more thing, now xmas will be replacing clubland tv this year from tuesday 11th

Logically, channel 625 would make the most sense, it's the only channel that's not used in UK & Ireland.

That's tv have had a habit of rebranding the channel.

This is the 4th or 5th rebrand of it since August 2024.

That's Rock had initially been launched in Aug 2024, then rebranded in Sept 2024 to That'sFabulous, That's rock brand returned in Aug 2025

I'd wondered if That's Tv even know themselves if it is temporary or permanent, or for how long it will be at this stage.

@MaccyD221 We've not been given a date by the broadcaster to change the name again, so I'd expect it to remain that way until they tell us otherwise.

If you aren't happy with the channel change, I'd suggest complaining to the channel's owners rather than Sky (who don't own or operate Clubland).

As a fan, I can say I'm very pleased with what Disney Jr pushing most of the other channels aside 625 before 5 year linear as they used to be Disney Channel, Disney XD altercation with Disney+.

It might just be a programming block, not a channel change. Or they just updated the channel logo for Christmas, but the channel name remains "That's Melody", or they didn't tell Sky.

See, I am completely with you on that. However, Sky and Penny Street Lane/Universal Music (who own Clubland and NOW music channels) are all companies surviving and falling into line to make things profitable. With GREAT! TV added GREAT! Christmas, Sky adding Sky Cinema Christmas, MTV adding MTV Xmas and That's TV adding That's Christmas, it's not really down to individual companies. They seem to all be following the lead that Christmas starts some time near the end of the year, or the latter part of it.

It's really more down to the commercialism of Christmas and how it makes money. To really eradicate Christmas being "forced down our necks", Christmas needs to be changed. Less or no presents and turning it into just one day so that the Christmas season becomes unprofitable. I don't think the rest of the world celebrates Christmas as much as the UK & Ireland does, in terms of the commercialism of it and how, as you've said, it's shoved down our necks.

The US and Canada have Thanksgiving, Australasia is probably thinking about the hotter weather and about sunbathing and tourism/ Japan and east Asia is probably thinking about the Festival of Lights or the Lunar New Year or local version.

America? That's where the extreme commercialism of Christmas (and most other things) comes from. In terms of TV their cable networks like Hallmark and Lifetime are full of Christmas movies from October onwards, much like similar channels here.

My point is that their main holiday towards the end of the year is really Thanksgiving, which seems to be a bigger deal than Christmas over there. Here in the UK and Ireland, it's as if we've rolled the significance of both Thanksgiving and Christmas into one long season.

I also feel we embrace the social side of Christmas more than the US, things like parties, school plays, pantos, pub nights,whereas in America it tends to be more family-focused.

So yes, America commercialised it first, but I think the UK and Ireland took that and dialled it up to 1000%. My broader point is that if people don't like the commercialism, then it needs to be severely reduced to calm everything down.

I saw a mother on Facebook saying she spent over £8,000 (≈ €9,100) on one child for Christmas. That's absolutely ludicrous to me. Potentially putting yourself into debt just to say "I love you the most" is honestly insane. I feel there should be an absolute max of around £100 (≈ €115) per person, and the rest handed over to Santa to help him!

And that brings up another issue: what are people teaching their children? Be good and receive an excessive amount of gifts, many of which they'll probably play with once and then never touch again?

Personally, I'd rather spend that money on making memories,holidays, activities, maybe even a trip to Lapland,actually giving them a childhood.

The whole commercialism has pretty much stripped away what Christmas is meant to be. To me, it's about appreciating those around us, helping others in need, and spending quality time together.

And going back to that £8,000, that could give 800 presents (at £10 each) or over 500 presents (at £15 each) to children who otherwise might get nothing. Or if a family desperately needed £100 a week (£400 a month) just for rent, electricity, heating, food, etc., it could support a family for 20 months!

At some point, it stops being generosity and becomes excess purely for excess's sake.
