Freely TV

Well been with sky for 19 years. Saddens me that today I gave my notice in. Firstly the price has gone from 38 to 62 a month. Retention got it to 46 a month. Well I did a TV audit and 95%of the time I watch the free to air channels, so after a couple of months of research I went to freely. I git a nice new 4k TV for £350.and now subscription free TV. It's amazing. And no monthly cost Sky I would have paid over £1400 in fees in 2 years. I fact I am. Going to buy another new TV for the bedroom and I am still quids in. Sky sort your product out and look after your customer who have supported you for many years. I have no TV aerial and so freely is a good substitute for me. Take care all and if you want to save money you know what to do.

Take care all and if you want to save money you know what to do.

So £19 in 2006 is worth £33 in 2025. Sky also needs to pay licence fees, news broadcasters, live presenters, sports rights, etc. At thinking like that, £68 is not too bad.

An alternative you could have gotten is Sky Essential TV. This gives access to channels that are "free-to-air channels*", their catch-up and streaming services. On Sky Stream, this is only £15 month (2 year min term). This is only £180 per year.

So, you could have gotten TV for less that the price 19 years ago.

(* includes RTÉ and TG4 channels in Northern Ireland)

Sky Essential TV does come across as designed with HBO Max launch in mind (since Sky bundle agreement isn't exclusive)
