Masterchef Australia Returns Monday 4th August

As I think a few who follow the What's On group are fans of Masterchef Australia (IIRC @KevNewMedia being one), I just thought I'd post to say I saw a trailer for the latest series.

So it starts on Monday 4th August on U&W at 7pm (available on U app as well, as U&W is FTA)

I am looking forward to it, although as I have read this year's show is all returning contestants I have to say I tend not to enjoy as much as with new contestants.

We started this season the other night and whilst I was a bit wary over the new concept, we're really enjoying it. I had expected the contestants to all be ones that I didn't remember, however so far so good. How are you finding it?

I have only watched the initial launch show but settled straight in & this time found the fact that they were all returning with several familiar faces (I didn't see the first few seasons) actually helping & making me think I have seen more than just this one show!

I think maybe the fact they are all returning, rather than some new & some not is better.

I thought it was interesting to see the 3 initial team leaders who have been on twice before (& I do recall from their last appearances)

Really looking forward to the rest of the season (as always with Masterchef Australia).

We're hooked already and also noticed that a second season of Desert Masters has appeared (it's probably been about for ages), so that's on the Playlist as well @nigea99

Yes U & W the Satellite channel is in SD only now (they closed the HD version a month or so ago)

U channels downloads for many shows should now be available in HD ever since they upgraded the UKTV play (now just U) app to play in HD a year or two ago

(BTW Drama channel was never broadcast in HD but they started doing downloads for some programmes on Drama in HD as above - I use this for a few like Brokenwood Mysteries)

So might be better to use the app or download - As I was lazy I just watched live in SD

I see Amazon Prime has up to season 15 all in HD and i think I've only watched the first few series so may start there First.

That's a lot of watching as each Season has many episodes.

I keep meaning to go watch the earlier seasons I missed but have not got round to it (I think I started around S8).

I did re-watch a few of my favourite S9 episodes (a road trip with Heston Blumenthal week) on Prime a while ago

Nothing will match my all time favourite in this genre , Keith Floyd with great series such as Floyd Uncorked , Floyd on France and Far Flung Floyd. 🙂
