Live TV Sky Stream

I am thinking of switching to Sky Stream. My only issue is, I sometimes like to scroll live TV. I have Q at the moment. I can't seem to find an answer to this question: Can I watch Live TV on Stream with it being plugged into the RF receiver? (My aerial on the roof doesn't work and I don't want to pay to fix it and rely on the Satellite for Q)

Not sure why you would need to use an aerial as most of the channels provide a live STREAM 🙂

Yes, because Stream is inherently an online only system.

Note that switching between channels is a little slower than broadcast reception though.

So I'm assuming the RF input is only for when the internet might be down?! And not for the purpose of live tv....

Officially the aerial socket doesn't have a function in the UK: it's there so Sky can use the same hardware in European countries where terrestrial television capability is a legal requirement for set top boxes.

Stream users have reported it is actually working, but only if the internet is disconnected.

If you're talking about the aerial input, this is offiically unsupported in Sky Stream, so having anything plugged into it wouldn't make a difference.

However, in Sky Glass TVs, this connection allows access to Freeview (UK) or Saorview (Ireland).

Sky Glass TVs do not support Freeview ... they do however support access to FTA terrestrial broadcasts via an aerial when not connected to the internet🤔

Freeview is more than just FTA terrestrial broadcasts ... it is a specific service licensed to specific TV manufacturers ... and Sky is NOT one of them😉

For clarification, they are an unofficial provider for Freeview or Saorview, as the channel listings and channel numbers are the same as Freeview. But yes, you are correct. But for simplicity, I used "Freeview" and "Saorview", as these seemingly are more understood than "FTA terrestrial broadcasts."
