@kizzwizz if the device you are using is connected by WiFi the WiFi speed has dropped most likely due to increased interference. You pay Sky for the broadband speed to your hub no ISP will extend that guarantee to all devices in your home as there are too many factors they cannot control.

WiFi interference has always been an issue and can be caused by your own wireless kit or your neighbours' WiFi. A simple reboot of the hub can help as it will find the least congested WiFi channel to use. If you have any equipment that uses wireless communication like wireless speakers or cordless phones move them away from your Sky hub. However either solution isnt going to sort every issue. Improving WiFi signal levels is a better long term idea. Sky will sell you their WiFi Max product which can get you up to 3 extenders or you can buy and use your own WiFi equipment.

Could somebody explain why when I carry out a speed test to my sky hub I now only get 30mbs where I was getting 150mbs.?

when I check the speed to the router via Sky site, it shows an incoming speed of 151mbs which is what I am paying for.For some reason, something has changed my speed.

Nothing has changed inside my house, and I did get 150mbs a month or so ago.

I really would like to know what has caused this drop in speed, and how to rectify it.

Hi

thankyou for the reply.

i have tried rebooting the hub to no avail.

i just found it strange when i was getting full speed not that long ago, and now i barely get 30mbs when I haven't changed anything myself

@kizzwizz WiFi speeds can be affected by several factors which interference is the main one. Check that the hub is out in the open off thecfloor away from other equipment which uses wireless communication as bluetooth etc can use the same frequency bands. While its possible the hub has lost WiFi power it would be a very unusual fault as most often WiFi stops completely or it works.
