Erm! Not sure when I do a speed check on fast.com I regularly get speed of 8 to 40 mbps not the 150 I should be getting. I have a Sky max hub

Use the MySky app and have a look at the broadband section, it will tell you the speed you're getting to the hub. If this is OK then it's probably a device connecting via wifi and there's no guarantee on that speed due to the many, many variables involved.

150Mbs is speed delivered to the Hub over optical fibre and ethernet cable, not WiFi from it. If you are accessing fast.com on a wireless device then you aren't testing the Hub speed.
