topic Poor WiFi coverage around home in Broadband

Recently had sky broadband installed in the home. City fibre guys put everything in and all seemed ok but since moving into the property the WiFi coverage is appalling. I can be 5 metres away and the signal drops like a stone. I work from home so I depend on my connection. Had virgin in the old house and able to work in a garage well away from the hub with no issues

@Pablo-Arm-

A poor signal is something that can cause this so try going through this to see if it helps:

https://www.sky.com/help/broadband/my-broadband-speed/improving-wi-fi-signal-to-my-devices/articles/improve-the-wi-fi-signal-to-your-devices

If not and if you have Wi-Fi Max on your account at about £6 per month then Sky will loan up to 3 pods as you can read about here:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max

The first one can be self installed while a second and third will require an engineer visit.

So you can either call them on 150 from a landline phone or a mobile that has a Sky sim in it or Select "No, I still need help" at the bottom on the above link.

Alternatives are homeplugs or your own mesh network.

The WiFi Max Guarantee doesn't cover unconverted lofts, gardens or external rooms, buildings or structures, like sheds or garden offices.
