PS5 high ping with Wi-Fi Max

Just set up the box last night, ps5 uses wifi as its upstairs and was completely fine.

This morning the ps5 wouldn't connect to the IP address of the new WiFi - tried all the online fixes like changing to WPA2 and 5 GHz - nothing working - turned it off and left for a few hours and now it connects but the ping is over 1000 which is just ridiculous.

Now I'm thinking I should just cancel my Wi-Fi max and go back to the black router as it's within the 14 day cooling off period.

I've seen a lot of Reddit/community posts with the same issue and doesn't seem to be an actual fix?

Do you mean that you've paid for the Sky WiFi max add-on? I presume you've then received the Sky Max Hub?

You haven't requested the first booster presumably, you'll have to contact them and ask for it. The other 2 you are allowed are only given after a visit by an engineer (if you need them) who will determine the best location and setup.

Dependant on your particular setup, if the signal from the main box is strong enough near the PS5, connect an ethernet cable between the booster and the PS5 and disable the PS5s wifi.

Yes is the Sky Max Hub, it just seems ridiculous I'm now paying more for worse wifi? As it worked perfectly fine before the hub was changed
