I use eM Client for sending and receiving emails, successfully for a number of years. Recently my Sent emails are receiving a Timeout error (10060) with no response from BT internet mail server. There have been no changes I am aware of to my Broadband or WiFi settings. I can use webmail ok, and I can send emails using eM Client via mobile (with home WiFi disabled). As soon as I trying sending via WiFi or broadband connection a failure occurs. I have disabled Broadband Shield as a test but no difference. Is there a setting that I need to check that could be preventing connection to BT mail server?

It is possible that the IP4 address Sky have assigned to your connection is the issue as they can get blacklisted if a previous user had been compromised andxwascsending spsm. You can normally switch that by powering down your Sky hub for at least an hour.

Hi, thanks for replying. I've tried power down router for 1 hour, then restarted. It has not made any difference, still unable to send email.

I have also tried eM Client on my Android mobile phone. I can send emails from other sites with WiFi from my mobile, but not from home WiFi.....

Success!! At last, emails can now be sent.

The Fix is not just to power down the SkyMax Router and leave for an hour, but a Hard Reset of the Router. This is done by holding down the WPS button for at least 30 seconds until the router lights switch off. This resets the Router back to factory default settings. It then restarts as it would after a power off. However, it still took another hour before everything synchronised and I was able to send emails from Desktop and also mobile (connected to wi-fi). I have left it 2 days before reporting success as I wanted to be sure the fix was still working. I have sent test messages everyday to be 100% sure.
