Hi,

My Sky broadband contract is due for renewal, currently on FTTC running at 73MB. Openreach are currently installing fibre to the premises in my street (they've already run the fiber in the street but not to the house).

I wanted to understand what would happen if I sign up for a contract renewal for my current 73MB fibre to the cabinet service and then wanted to upgrade ie would I be able to upgrade and would I pay more if I'm in a new contract than if I'm out contract and then sign up for the fibre to the faster premises service?

Thanks

Hi,

If you renew your current FTTC broadband contract now, you'll still be able to upgrade to Full Fibre (FTTP) once it's available at your address.

When Openreach completes the fibre build and Sky can provide FTTP to your property, you can contact us to discuss upgrading to one of the Full Fibre packages. As FTTP is a different broadband product, the upgrade would usually involve moving onto a new broadband agreement with the applicable Full Fibre pricing and terms available at that time.

In terms of cost, there's no disadvantage to being in a contract when upgrading. The price you'd pay would be based on the Full Fibre package and any offers available when you place the upgrade order, rather than whether your current FTTC service is in or out of contract.

So, if you'd prefer to secure a renewal price on your current 73Mb service now, you can do so knowing that you'll still have the option to move to Full Fibre when it becomes available.

Thanks,

That's great and very clear thank you. I will renew my current service and upgrade when FTTP is available.
