We had to get an external range extender.

If you search for EAP Outdoor POE using a search engine you'll get a few pop up. We use a TP-Link device with our Robot Lawnmower, just make sure it's supplied with the POE injector and buy with it a suitable length of CAT6 cable suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Just connect it to your Sky router to a spare LAN port, and follow the setup for the access point. I would choose a different SSID and password for the Outdoor AP for the lawnmower. On some APs you can have multiple SSIDs. So you could set one for just the lawnmower but don't call it lawnmower as otherwise thieves will know there is a lawnmower nearby, but set up an identical SSID and password to your Sky WiFI so you can use your devices in the garden and they should switch automatically if the SSID and password is set identical.

I recently purchased a grass cutting robot from Mammotion

unfortunately my WiFi signal to the robot is very weak and is causing me problems

ive tried a router extender but failed to get it to work

is there anything that Sky can do to help

David

@Orchid1

The wording of the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' specifically excludes outdoor spaces, so you could not claim for that particular purpose even if you have the WiFi Max subscription supplement on the broadband account.

Realistically you may need a specialist weatherproof external wireless access point on the end of an ethernet cable to give decent coverage.
