What's App message from SKY UK - stating I will get full fibre 75 free due to copper switch off. Is this legit or a scam. Not seen this mentioned anywhere, and is SKY UK real?

@a-darby1969 wrote:
What's App message from SKY UK - stating I will get full fibre 75 free due to copper switch off.

The installation is 'free'. There's still a monthly broadband subscription fee, which will change to the regular price for that FTTP tier once the remainder of any current minimum contract term has elapsed.

Perhaps note this isn't generosity on the part of Sky: for the vast majority of UK properties switching from copper to fibre was always going to be free because Openreach is investing something like fifteen billion pounds on the project to upgrade their network, from which they expect to extract wholesale revenue with reduced maintenance cost for the rest of the century.
