@Ash11201120 sorry Sky do not offer a mobile broadband back-up on their domestic services so unless you are a Sky Business customer whereca 4G back-up is included that simply not an option.

Openreach are installing something arouns 80k fibre lines each week and acsmall percentage hit issues. 52 days is relatively short delay going by reports in this forum. Where a roadworks permit is required these take as long as they take to obtain Local,Authorities work at their own speed. You are best advised to buy your own mobile solution the cost of which will be covered by the eventual compensation which will be credited after the install is complete.

As a guide a simple TP-Llink 4g router can be bought for under £50 and you can buy unlimited off contract sims online with Amazon a 6 month unlimited Vodafone costing £140.

Hi everyone,I am looking for some help escalating a major Openreach delay with my new Sky Broadband installation.Original Written Activation Date: July 14thNew Proposed Date: September 4thTotal Delay: 52 DaysOpenreach needs to perform a civils dig on the public pavement and cross onto my driveway. My driveway is purely gravel. There is no shared land and no neighbors' land involved (so no Wayleave is needed). The delay is purely down to Openreach waiting on local council pavement permits.Because this is a 52-day delay, my Ofcom Automatic Compensation is already sitting at £335.92 (£6.46/day).While I understand Openreach is locked into council timelines, a 7-week wait with zero internet is impossible. Can a Sky staff member please escalate this case and arrange for a Sky Smart Backup 4G router or a pre-funded mobile data SIM to be shipped to my property immediately?Thank you.

A 4G backup is only available if you are a Sky Business customer so if you are then you would need to contact Sky business support about this. I don't believe Sky would send you a free sim either.
