WiFi problem

Hi.

I have recently rejoined sky after a brief spell with virgin.

Since being switched to sky I have had trouble with the WiFi, Clicking on a link it can take 10+ seconds for a page to load and trying to log into online banking most of the time it will timeout before logging me in.

All of the online tests show that everything upto the router is fine. I believe it is just the WiFi in the house that is the problem. I am generally sat about 6 feet from the router so it's not a signal problem. Someone on the sky help phone line sent me a booster convinced that it would solve the issue even after being told I am 6 feet from the router in direct line of sight. This booster has made no difference as I thought it wouldn't.

Weirdly my old mobile (Samsung S10+) doesn't seem as bad as my newer phone (S24). My husband's Pixel 9 has trouble as well. We also have 2 tablets that also have trouble, both Samsung devices.

So I don't really know what to think hence me posting on here. Could there be a setting that needs changing? Do we have a dodgy hub?

Any ideas or suggestions are very welcome.

I have the sky max hub (I think,it's the white one)

We have exactly the same problem and totally being fobbed off! I would say it's 100% sky problem. We had the same setup with BT and no problems. Wish I had never switched. Good luck your side.

You sign up for it when you get a booster. I phoned the helpline again to have a moan and was told that because we have sky max that they will send a engineer out to my house to sort the problem out. He is due on Thursday, I will update here after his visit.
