Bit of advice needed please At 4.56pm last night I lost WiFi and Internet connection on sky router. It happened a few weeks ago. Openreach came out found water ingress in cabinet connection in the road and a connector damaged. This improved my speed. It seemed to solve the drop out until yesterday at 4 56pm when router showed only 1 green light lit for the power Router reboots and eventually stabilises but there's a 20 min period where I'm without Internet As I work from home on a 24/7 emergency phone line I can't work whilst the reboot completes. Sky say they couldn't see any faults but the Openreach technician could when he came. Numerous drop outs showed to him. Sky supposed to be arranging a technician visit for the second time. Ive checked router settings on line to see if IP address renewal is requested for that time but can't see any related info. Ive ruled out environmental factors. Anyone please shed any light on my problem?

Realistically no fixed line ISP can guarantee uninterrupted service: the topology of the cabled network makes that impossible.

You might want to consider using a provider which has automated failover to cellular data (at an additional monthly cost)

This fault only manifested itself onTuesday 27th May @ 16.56 hrs - it continued to drop daily at the same time until Wednesday 3rd June.

4th of June it was ok and on the 5th June the BT Openreach engineer came to my house to investigate.

Up to 27th May @ 16.56 hrs I had no problems whatsoever.

It does sound like an external cable problem so you'd need Openreach to look at it.

As for your use case, if you are supposed to be on call 24/7, your employer should really be paying for a business line for property. Running such an important service over a domestic Sky broadband line is not ideal.
