POD Ethernet FEED In to give WiFi

I'm trying to use Sky POD as Ethernet (Cat8) but can't seem to get it work work.

Sky Fibre in main room downstairs works great (atm) and gives on a good day 1.2gbs

Upstairs WiFi seems to be around 500mb or. Or more but the main room needed for WiFi is 2mb or below.

that room has hard wired cat 8 alongside all other rooms upstairs via a switch

(note my sky q mink boxes work great via this and yes the WiFi is turned off on those using this method)

all cables work fine and have been tested

I was told I could use the sky pod - I plug it in goes through lights then, it doesn't use the cable just a poor WiFi pick up (awful)

can It work on Ethernet in to act as the WiFi extender

If I use it as just WiFi booster placed k suitable place it drops speed upstairs to around 20mb and all devices checked never seems to flip back to main router

hence the need for the pod via Ethernet

Hi @Packard999

Sky pods do not use ethernet for backhaul like older Sky boosters, they will always connect back via WiFi. The etherner port is to connect wired devices which you should be able to do.

Thanks, a truly awful design

if I use the WiFi booster in a room that was very very good it then drops the whole top floor to around 20meg ...

where as if could feed in 1.2gb into the pod with loss it would be far superior to that

and products I can use that keeps the same WiFi name and logic and switches automatic?

You would be best off looking at 3rd party mesh solutions instead.
