topic Red Optical Light in Broadband

I have had no internet connection for 5/6 days now, the optical light is showing red on the openreach box. An engineer came this morning to look at it, and as he arrived the internet had randomly come back on.

Anyway, he checked over the wires and said all looks ok. There isn't much he can do with it now being on, so he left. By this afternoon the connection is lost again and my broadband and phone line are down. Nothing has changed within the property, I haven't touched it, just simply went to finally watch some telly after not being able to the last 5 days, and it's off again, I can't believe it! Any reasons as to why this keeps happening please help?

there are no known issues in my area, and why I've tried to do the service check, it says it all looks good! ... also troubleshooting and restarting doesn't make a difference.

TIA

@Cornishmaid123

If the ONT is working correctly the power and PON lights should be green, a red LOS is literally Loss Of Service.

Sadly the only steps I am aware of are turn the ONT off at the mains for 30 minutes and then restart it. If the LOS is still red after this it is engineer time again.

I would highly recommend highly recommend getting some video of it not working just in case you end up making a complaint in future. Plus screen shots of the service checker telling you everything is fab if it isn't.
