Hi We recently had fibre installed, and the ethernet cable that runs from the fibre box to the router is at least 2 metres too short. Pur fancy router is sat on the Doormat at the front door waiting for someone to kick it because the cable is too short 😂 What ethernet am I looking for on amazon, what will work with fibre? Cat 8? Im not very tech minded and dont want to buy the wrong thing.

Cat5e is fine, but Cat6A is likely to be the same price and theoretically 'better' for potential future FTTP speeds.

Cat8 is overpriced, unnecessary and frequently on Amazon not Cat8 anyway.

As above, go for Cat6 or Cat6A (Cat6A uses thicker strands so dissipates heat better but is only needed for really long runs). You'll be able to pick it up locally even from the likes of the Asda.
