Most commonly if using WiFi for the connection from the hub to your device interference from other networks on the same or adjacent channel or some other wireless source will cause packet loss. A simple reboot of your hub can help,as the hub will find the lesst congested channel to use. However better is to use Ethernet cables which are immune but can be impractical. If the issue affects devices in one area getting an extender may help see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max but for gaming you may find buying a powerline networking kit, which consists of two adapters that use the mains wiring in your home to carry the data, maybbe a better solution.

If you can exclude the WiFi then less common issues could be involved but thesexare far rarer than lousy WiFi.

I have been experiencing issues with 20% + packet loss and download speeds as low as 5mbps depsite my sky app telling me there are no issues. I have checked everthing and nothing works. It happens at random times at day and even when nobody else is using the wifi. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Has it started recently?

I've got the same problem and am trying to work out if the issues are from inside my network or a sky issue.

I use Unifi equipment and am seeing really bad packet loss ~65% and very high latency, poor speed test results but all from equipment inside the Unifi network. So trying to narrow things down before blaming Sky, at the moment there site is saying everything is fine with my network and equipment.

@GMC2008 assume you havecalready excluded WiFi issues. A useful tool to diagnose network issues is the BQM see https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality

The BQM works by pinging your router and recordinground trip time as the server is very close to the London Internet Exchange it is effectively just measuring the connection over Sky's network and the link to your home. However a snag you will hit is Sky will require you to refit a Sky hub before even diecussing issues like these but even then getting action where there is known issue is very difficult.
