topic Cable to master socket in Broadband

Sky have given me a new router to connect when the network upgrade is done in my area. This will go live on 11th May and I have to plug my phone into the new router on this date so it will work digitally.

My question is

Does the cable from outside the house to the master socket indoors have to be changed, and do I need a new master socket?

As sky have not offered this to me.

The existing cable from outside the house to the master socket indoors is a very old copper cable.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated

@Rodengineer ghe most likelybupgradecis axswirtch from pa rtial fibrecwhere the connection into your property id via the copper phone cable to full fibre where the connection from the road uses a fibre cable. The enginerr will install a new box called an ONT (optical network termination) which replaces your master socket the new hub connects to that box using an Ethernet cable which should be in thevkit you have been sent. The other change is your landline phone is you use onecwill plug into the baxk of the hub. All of your phone wiring becomes obsolete.
