Long story, condensed as short as I can,

september 21st, 2024, had fibre optic 500 installed, with sky max router, still using skydish for TV, kept dropping out, only 23 foot from Q box, engineer came out, twiddled a few **bleep**, it dropped out 10 minutes after he left, got onto tech, they directed me to twiddle a few **bleep**, it dropped out again

now, this were it gets interesting, another engineer came, and admitted the hub did not talk to the Q box, this went on for months, it got so bad, I was given the option of cancelling the contract anytime, with no cost to me, now REMEMBER, your paying £34 for broadband AND £8 for the sky max Router/ Hub, and it doesn't work, the engineers are fed up with it, then, one day, I am on the phone to Tech, again, about to have Another session of pulling my hair out, and he says, have you got the large octagonal shape booster? Yes, I said, came with the hub, it's plugged in half way up the lounge, then he came out with brilliance,

plug it in to a wall socket, at the rear of the TV, plug an HDMI cable from the booster, to the Sky Q box,
so we did, PROBLEM SOLVED INSTANTLY!!!!

I have 41 logged hours on the phone to Tech, 2 engineers visits, where one engineer said he could do nothing, as--his words, the Sky max, at £8 a MONTH, was not compatible with the Sky Q box, SO, you have this large big 50 p shaped booster, plug it into the wall, back of the TV, connect an HDMI cable between it, & the Sky Q box, you can all thank me later,

'Boosters' don't have HDMI sockets: HDMI is an audio/video standard, not networking.

It would be an ethernet cable.

YEP, got the cables wrong, my bad, but apart from quoting the wrong cable, the answers valid, if you've got one of these bad boys, hook up the large octagonal shaped white plastic thing, with an ETHERNET cable, at the rear of the TV, to the Sky Q box, and 98% of problems solved, sorry about the wrong cable description, if I could edit it, I would
