Is there a need for a landline?

I have been a ~Sky customer for at least 10 yrs. Currently I pay £26 a month for superfast broadband, wifi and landline.

Should I ditch the landline which I never use? Would this make it a better deal? I don't have Sky TV

Sky Talk is bundled together with Sky Broadband. You can't cancel the Talk side of things without cancelling Broadband as well. Just make sure you're on the Sky Pay As You Talk tariff (call Sky if you're not). That way if you make no calls there are no Sky Talk charges. (The Pay As You Talk tariff is the default tariff when you join).

A data bearer cable, either copper pair or optical fibre, is required for terrestrial broadband to arrive at the address, and rental of this circuit (which was historically referred to as the landline) is included in the monthly broadband subscription cost.

As @Daniel0210 indicates, what you don't need is an inclusive voice call add-on unless you actually want to make outgoing calls.
