Do hubs hold personal information?

Hi,

Just wondering if someone can help. My elderly father took his old Sky hub to the council tip and disposed of it in small electricals. It was about 3 years old and he didn't need to return it. It has occurred to me that if he didn't do a factory reset before taking it to the tip, does the hub hold personal information? I know it's a bit late now but just wondering so we know whether to look out for potential identity theft etc.

From what I can gather routers don't hold that sort of information but just want to be sure that's the case with Sky routers. Many thanks

@Spinnerella Nothing is held on the sky router at all, so safe enough that way!

I suppose that in theory if a subscriber used the wireless credentials printed on a router, then changed those on a new unit to match the original and disposed of the first one insecurely by putting it in a bin outside the house then that's a possible (though incredibly unlikely) risk.
